Israel Strikes on Iran: Iranian Security Forces Killed in Tensions Rise

In a fresh escalation, two Iranian security personnel were reported killed following Israeli airstrikes on military sites within Iran early Saturday morning. According to Israeli officials, the attacks were in response to recent Iranian missile strikes targeting Israeli locations.

Iranian Reaction and Civilian Voices

The airstrikes reportedly hit strategic military sites in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam. Though damage assessments are still underway, early reports suggest the impact was relatively contained. An Iranian citizen spoke out about the attack, saying, “We are war-hardened. We are not shaken by these threats. Iran speaks the truth—that human lives, including children’s, should not be taken. This is not wrong.”

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strikes, calling Israel’s actions a “clear violation” of international law and the United Nations Charter. In its statement, the ministry cited Article 51 of the UN Charter, affirming Iran’s right to self-defense. The Ministry asserted that these actions violate the territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations, stressing that Iran views Israel’s aggressive acts as unacceptable and will respond accordingly.

Israeli Defense Perspective

According to Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israeli military, the airstrikes targeted Iranian missile defense and air systems. Hagari emphasized that Israel focused on precision strikes against areas believed to support Iran’s missile production, as well as defensive infrastructure designed to limit Israeli air operations in Iran. “We attacked precisely and targeted areas with manufacturing facilities that Iran has used to launch missiles toward Israel,” Hagari stated, adding that surface-to-air missile arrays were also neutralized.

This escalation follows an October 1 incident in which Iran launched close to 200 ballistic missiles at Israeli targets. The Iranian attack was reportedly in response to the deaths of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader in Lebanon, and Abbas Nilforoushan, a senior commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, both allegedly killed by Israeli forces.

As tensions continue, the international community watches closely, with many condemning the rising violence and urging both nations to de-escalate the conflict.
